D.I.Y How To Refresh An Old Weave (Professional Results)

You've spent good d@mn money on your bundles, not to mention your install, and want to maximize on your investment. We don't blame you! The problem? You don't know how....well love, you have definitely come to the right place. These simple tips, tricks, and practices will show you how to bring that lackluster weave right back to it's beautiful, soft, shiny, manageable self.

First of all you have to remember that even though you didn't grow the bundles of hair, some human being did. It's common for women to forget that, thus not properly maintaining the hair once installed. The very best practice is to wash and deep condition your bundles every 3-4 weeks (more often if you workout regularly or are a profuse sweater).  This lessens the amount of product build-up, possible fungi that could carry a smelly stench, and makes the hair easier to style.

The following should be done whether the hair is installed or not-

Step 1:

Detangle that monster. You're going to need a wig brush or a wide tooth comb for this. Never, once again...never comb the hair from the weft (top portion of the track) during this process. Dampen the hair with a little conditioner and gently start combing the hair from the bottom up. Be sure to hold the weft tightly to reduce the amount of breakage. Rinse thoroughly.

Step 2:

Soak your freshly detangled bundles in apple cider vinegar for twenty minutes. Yes honey you read it right, apple cider vinegar. If the bundles are installed grab an empty clean spray bottle and go to town. After saturating your entire head put on a shower cap until it's time to start the next process.

Step 3:

Rinse, rinse, rinse. Make sure that all of the vinegar is out then use a clarifying shampoo. Be sweet to your hair, do not rub vigorously as to damage and tangle it. Just like in step one, start from the bottom and work your way up to the top.

Step 4:

Shampoo again with Silicon Mix. This product is known and celebrated for it's ability to restore the natural flexibility of the hair, curly or straight.

Step 5:

If the bundles are not installed, gently wrap them in a clean towel and smooth the excess water out of them. If you choose to blow dry already installed hair use the lowest setting on the dryer. Done!

Every weave has it's day honey. When that day has come, order your bundles from Pretty Girl Hair Factory. PGHF is known for quality, longer lasting, minimal shedding hair.
